Dia de los Muertos Artisan Crafts FeatureAs with the Halloween feature I made, I'm a bit late... but I still think that any time is time for good art!
Some of you already know that I'm mexican and proud, and Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) is a very important tradition for me. While it is also celebrated in other parts of Latin America I am only familiar with the traditions we have here, so I'm really sorry for not being able to represent everyone

But feel free to leave me a comment with your own traditions, I would love to read about them

Also, I shall warn you that I consider myself a purist, and while I appreciate everyone's efforts to make art inspired by Dia de los Muertos there's some things that simply don't go with the spirit of this date, and I won't include them in this feature... for exa

Spirit Day Artisan CraftsToday, October 19th 2012 is Spirit Day! Spirit Day started on 2010 as a homage to the LGBT people that lost their lives or committed suicide due to bullying they suffered, and while the main focus is still on the LGBT community it's now a day to take actions against bullying. No one should have to endure bullying, ever.
$Moonbeam13 wrote an article about Spirit Day and listed some ways you can help, please give it a read!
I looked around and I found some great Artisan Crafts supporting Spirit Day, so here they are! I was really happy to find awesome people that even make crafts and donate the profits to LGBT charities

If anyone knows of any more crafts please let me know so that I can add them to this collection, extra bonus if you upload something about Spirit Day

And the Quotable Semi-Finalists are...Writers and designers, you really rocked your words this time around! The following original phrase designs made the list of top 50 and are all semi-finalists! Thank you for taking the written word and transforming it into designs that are verbally and artistically unique, fun, wearable and original.
Once the judges make their tough decisions, there will be a total of three finalists selected. Two designs will be selected from the 50 Semi-Finalists and one design will be chosen from the entire pool of entries. Three finalists will each receive $1,500 USD and 20 units of their T-Shirt to distribute amongst friends and family. Plus, each winning design will be sold in the deviantART T-Shirts & Gear Shop!

Hi guys,
I just bought some candy and thought it would be nice to give it away. It all comes from Bulk Barn Canada, everything is factory sealed but it might have come in contact with nuts, there's no way I can know that. Also I did buy some nuts at the same time but those are gone, just sayin'.
The candy bag will contain: chocolate loonies and toonies (yes that's what we call our 1 and 2 dollar coins), mini caramel chocolate bars, maple sugar candies, chocolate spiders and a dark cherry skull lollipop.
