 As weak first-worlders, we would rather blast the air conditioning and bundle up then turn it down and rely on the earth to temperature regulate humanity.  
 Then you look to your left, and find a sub-standard looking male of the species sitting there beside you, nurturing his growing gut with his third can of beer, and complaining that you never watch what he wants to watch. :iconverynotimpressedplz:
Behind the Scenes at Biniwood : Frankie's Day OutThis is my first time using Sta.sh, so let's see what it's all about :giggle:
Well, today has been super fun so far; I've had a great time introducing everyone to Frankie! But as I was looking through her photographs in the lightbox, I suddenly thought to myself "Why have I photographed something that's supposed to be all about imagination and bringing things to life in such a static environment?"
So I grabbed Frankie, my camera and my son and we had a jolly good fun time photographing under a beautiful weeping willow tree in our garden :)
Jack (my son) is 3 in October, but his imagination is already incredible. He has an entire army of Bobinies, which always have to be wrapped up in a blankie with him for bed, and he plays with them for hours. So our photoshoot today was very natural to say the least! I've only really editted one of the photos, but there are so many more that are just so much fun! I want to share them all with you, so I thought I'd create this little article, "Behind

Faux FoodIf you browse the culinary art circles, you'll often see comments on skilled artisans' deviations reading, "It's a shame you have to eat that."
Outside of culinary arts, food deviations attract the opposite: "It looks delicious. It's a shame you can't eat it."
It's an endlessly amusing juxtaposition. We want to preserve the art, but sometimes the inedible version is just so tempting you feel the desire to consume it anyway. 
Many deviants use a variety of mediums to portray fun, quirky, and sometimes deliciously realistic food. Here are a few examples from five different mediums used to create more permanent versions of favourite food items.

Scale 1:3 Neko Cheesecake

Modular OrigamiOrigami, literally meaning 'paper folding', is the well-known traditional Japanese art of doing exactly what it says: folding paper. Its goal? Simply to take a flat piece of paper and transform it into something awesome.  
Modular origami is a branch of the art form that allows artists to achieve results they couldn't with a single piece of paper. Two or more sheets are used, and each sheet is folded into identical shapes termed 'modules' or 'units'. Each module is then assembled to create the final sculpture. 
While the single piece of paper rule is abandoned in modular origami, all the other traditional rules still apply: no glue, no cuts, no thread, no fastenings. The pieces must be adhered by the creation of flaps or inserts in the individual pieces.  
These deviants showcase this technique with some amazing 3-dimensional origami structures.

Two months ago, we asked you the community to give us input on ways to merge, remove, add and retire sub-categories for easier browsing and submitting.
We were instructed to remove clutter and merge galleries rather than make more mess, so we gave priority to removing redundant galleries instead of creating more. We understand that many of you love new galleries and would be thrilled to have a new gallery for every single craft, but please understand that this is not possible. Please take a look at the current galleries and let us know if you think that any of them can be merged or is unnecessary.

Scary Cosplaying experiences.I'm pretty sure my horror stories are nothing compared to those of a veteran con goer, but it doesn't take a genius to know that some people you run into at conventions aren't exactly just being friendly.
 I was at Ikkicon last winter, basically acting as a bodyguard for my friend in a maid outfit, who, mind you, is only fourteen. I can't tell you how many times a middle aged man would come up to her and hug her. Especially this one man cosplaying as Mario who refused to let go for several minutes. I really don't know why the men at these conventions go after anything female and moving, but I try to avoid them.
 Also, believe it or not, what I would consider a creepy, old man, was passing out cookies to every girl in a skimpy cosplay. Maybe the man was just being nice, and checking to see if anyone wanted a cookie, but let's just put ourselves back in reality.

Now that K-doll is back on track finally and seems to be now a pretty active store, I'm hoping that this group will be less tossed to the side (mostly by me, actually LOL).

The second Khan pre-order ends today, as well as his head-only pre-order. I got mine in the first one, but if you didn't make it or were waiting for white skin/head only options, this is your last chance in a while! I'm pretty sure he sold quite well again and Ku Jeong Eun (the sculptor) will rerelease him some other time.
I must say, she's definitely going pro now! The doll arrived at impeccable shape. He came embedded in that polyethylene foam block carved on the shape of the doll, like Iplehouse does, which is, IMO, the most safe way to ship a doll (:  And the certificate came in the most adorable way possible: a wax-sealed letter! Yup, that's right! It's so classy, look at it:

Working on messenger bags!Ok folks wish me luck. I know people from time to time have asked me when will I be doing prints of my art.  As much as I like to do that, I really haven't found the time to pursue it or the money to put into it. But now!!!  After talking with my friend Kit Cameo about this really cool site she told me about that does art printing on fabric, I've decided to look into doing a limited run of small messenger bags and maybe tote bags with one of my Dia de los muertos art pieces on it. Just have to figure out all the cost and labor cost to make them. If all goes well I should have a few sometime after this summer for sale! I think it will look really cool! I've looked around etsy and ebay for handmade bags and their are some really cool ones out there and some really bad ones too so hope I'll be ok, so wish me luck that all goes well!  Once I have them, I'll post up pics and let you guys know what I have for sale!

Hi sweeties!
Monthly Food Challenge is a activity for you to be creative! :happybounce:
Every month, we will introduce a kind of food to you. There will be a couple of examples as inspirations to get your creativity flowing. All submissions will be added in this journal. In the end of the month, all the featured entries will be posted in a custom box in our homepage for� another month.

We highly encourage you to give a try on the themes; as well as sharing your ideas will all the members in the group. Don't hesitate to tell us what you think about the project and share your experiences with us!
